Gaza City, August 30, 2025 — Israel has stepped up its assault on Gaza, declaring parts of the enclave a “dangerous combat zone” and suspending humanitarian aid pauses under Operation Gideon’s Chariots II.
Fresh airstrikes and artillery bombardments struck neighborhoods including Al-Zeitoun and Jabalia, leaving dozens dead and injured. The overall death toll has now climbed past 31,000 since October 2023, according to Gaza health officials.

The move has triggered mass displacement, with thousands fleeing their homes amid severe shortages of food, clean water, and medical supplies. Aid groups warn the crisis could spiral further after Israel halted humanitarian pauses that previously allowed limited relief deliveries.
The United Nations has condemned the offensive, urging Israel to exercise restraint and safeguard civilian lives. But Israel insists the operation is aimed at dismantling militant strongholds and defending its borders.
As the fighting intensifies, observers fear the conflict is entering one of its deadliest chapters yet, with civilians once again caught in the crossfire.
